Our sister in law and niece hitched a ride with us this morning from the marina to go stay with Dan’s parents for the weekend. We left the marina under fog but had a good breeze so sailed nearly all the way from Anacortes, out into the straights and up to Cattle Pass at San Juan Island. We met up with Dorothy & Dennis at American Camp and did a little hike around American Camp. In the evening the wind picked up to over 20kts but eventually died overnight. We enjoyed the hike but since we were close to Friday Harbor we decided to weigh anchor the next morning to show the kids the town. We anchored off Friday Harbor and took the dinghy in. We had lunch in town, went to the whale museum, had ice cream then went to see Cars 3 at the little theater. We usually don’t like going to the islands that are serviced by ferries because it’s so much busier and we like the remoteness of the smaller islands but it was a nice change of pace. After the movie we weighed anchor and headed home.
