Today was our first time visiting Cypress Island. As we approached we were surprised by how many buoys there are in Eagle Harbor. The buoys are run by DNR not the state and don’t list a maximum length like the state park buoys so we grabbed a buoy. We headed in to shore to go for a hike to Duck Lake. We couldn’t believe how many little salamanders we found along the way. It’s sunny today but it’s still November in Washington so they were kind of sluggish. We’ve renamed it Newt Island. We stayed the night and slowly made our way back to the marina Saturday morning.
