It’s our first trip to our favorite island, Blake Island. Still getting used to the boat and how things work. It was Ashley’s 2nd time lowering the anchor. Samadhi’s anchor is a 115lb beast and our windlass isn’t power down, it’s manual. That means Ashley has to get it off the bow and prepped to drop before we find the “right” spot to anchor. The whole system is different than we’re used to and it weighs nearly as much as her. Another take away from this trip is that we need to mark the anchor chain, we’re kind of guessing right now at how much we’re putting out. We played on the west beach of Blake Island and watched the sun go down right over Samadhi. It was beautiful. Spent the night… did I mention there’s no heat and it’s VERY cold? If not, there’s no heat and it’s very cold. We got some indoor propane heaters but only run them when they’re attended, not while we’re sleeping or exploring off the boat. The kids and Ranger had a blast and we headed back Saturday afternoon.
