One of our primary reasons for visiting Guatemala was to visit the Mayan site of Tikal. Alexander particularly loves to visit hands-on historical sites, so Ashley and I knew he would love Tikal. Victoria in her constant search for input would be fascinated by the history as well. Tikal was another 6 hour drive through the beautiful countryside. We arrived in the afternoon, got to bed early and were up before the sun to get the most of our day. We arrived at the gates as they were opening them and we were told it was time to leave at the end of the day. Alexander and Victoria nearly had to be pulled away from exploring the ruins and learning about how the Mayan lived. They explored every crevice, every room, every monument that we found. Even the coatis, turkeys and monkeys could not distract them from their explorations for long. I will let the pictures speak for themselves
